All Day, Anywhere

Adults can now get a cheaper all day bus ticket to use across the North East — and it can be used on the Metro and Shields Ferry too.

Adults can now travel all day, anywhere, with new more affordable day tickets. Many tickets offer a major cost-saving when compared to the existing product – such as the brand new regionwide ticket saving a whopping 46% each day (£5.90 cost saving).

The All Day, Anywhere campaign comes as a result of the North East Enhanced Partnership – a formal agreement between bus operators and local authorities. The partnership has been collaborating tirelessly to bring to fruition these new incentives for local people and it’s a result of all their hard work that they have rolled out across the region.

The campaign also follows the publication of the North East Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) in 2021, and the North East’s funding award of £163.5 million.

Day tickets for unlimited bus travel in County Durham are just £4, in Northumberland are just £5, day tickets for unlimited travel on bus, Metro, Ferry, and the Northern Rail services between Blaydon and Sunderland in Tyne and Wear are just £6. For £6.80 people can access a multi-modal, regionwide ticket for unlimited travel all day.

Given the complex nature of the product and the extremely broad audience, the marketing and communications activity has been exceptionally strategic in nature. From out of home and print advertising to social media campaigns and influencer activity, the team are continuing to work with partners and stakeholders to spread the word of the campaign to all adults across the region.
